- Angelilly Pethe Added February 13, 2023★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I was refered by doctors nextdoor. I thought i might as well give it a go.. i never been to a psycologist before.. I was under the impression that they must be brilliant at what they do...6 years uni degree and consulation fees that exceed doctor fees and waiting times of many months!.. to get to the point.. if you need medical certificates, by law psycologist are not authorised/ recognized to produce certificates. Psycologist can only assist if you accept responsibilty to your problems and have thounds $ to spend.. help with toxic environment is beyond their scope. Only the GP can issue Depression Anxiety medical certifice and not the psycologist..

My psych always refers me to my doctor for things that are outside of her abilities for example medication and legal needs. They are exceptional at reminding me and giving me time to redo my referals and Medicare appointments so i can get it at the cheapest price.
